On Thursday 9 June, Hordijk won the 2022 Stichting Afvalfonds Packaging Award. Together with Albert Heijn, Hordijk won the award for the most innovative use of recycled material in packaging. CEO Rik Hennink accepted the award on behalf of Hordijk.
Tray to tray
This year, Albert Heijn became the first supermarket in the Netherlands to introduce tray-to-tray packaging from Hordijk. Recycling old PET containers into new PET containers, or tray-to-tray recycling, is unique and a big step towards circular packaging.
