Thermoforming

The plastic sheet is heated until it becomes pliable. It is then drawn under vacuum and moulded into cups.

Thermoforming is also known as vacuum forming. This is a manufacturing process in which plastic sheet is heated until it becomes pliable.

The hot plastic sheet is then vacuum-formed. A mould is used to form cups, trays or lids. The mould is then cooled and the material takes on its final shape. In the final step, the cups, trays or lids are punched out the sheet and stacked.

In addition to producing its own thermoformed packaging, Hordijk also extrudes the required sheet. This allows us to tailor the packaging to your requirements in terms of thickness, colour or the amount of recycled material used.
