Expanded polystyrene (EPS ) also known as Styrofoam, consists of 98% air and 2% polystyrene.
At Hordijk, polystyrene is only used in expanded form. An EPS product can be made into any shape using a mould. EPS material has an insulating effect. Hordijk produces various EPS products, including packaging, insulation boards, building materials, technical packaging components and horticultural trays.
With the exception of food packaging, we use up to 30% recycled polystyrene foam in all products.
With the latest technology, which involves the use of microwaves instead of steam, we can even use up to 80% of recycled material.
