Koninklijke Hordijk Verpakkingen in Zaandam will start producing PEF salad trays for Albert Heijn in January 2025 together with PEF producer Avantium and our partner fresh produce company Koninklijke Vezet B.V.
PEF is 100% vegetable and recyclable
PEF is a 100% plant-based and fully recyclable polymer and a sustainable alternative to PET packaging. PEF can be mixed excellently in the recycling process with (traditional) fossil PET packaging.
PEF as a packaging material is a new solution and fits perfectly with the ambitions of Hordijk and other stakeholders, Koninklijke Vezet, Albert Heijn Avantium to minimise their environmental impact.
