For our thermoforming factories in Zaandam, we are looking for an enthusiastic and committed Thermoforming Team Leader. Are you someone who understands technology and knows how to motivate people? Then we would like to meet you.

Thermoforming Team Leader

(Location: Zaandam)

What is thermoforming?

Thermoforming is a production technique in which plastic film is heated until it becomes flexible and is then shaped in a mould (also called a tool) to create packaging. Think of transparent lids, trays and food packaging you see every day in the supermarket.
It is a precise process where temperature, air pressure and design must be perfectly aligned. This requires craftsmanship and strong leadership on the shop floor.

What will you do?

As a Thermoforming Team Leader, you are the driving force on the production floor. You ensure a smooth production process and a team that knows what is expected of them and continues to develop.

You are visible on the floor, work alongside your team when needed and have a good sense of what is going on within the team. You encourage employees to take responsibility, gain a better understanding of their machines and work together on quality and efficiency. Your responsibilities include:

  • Starting up machines at the beginning of the shift and allocating tasks according to the production plan.
  • Supervising, instructing and coaching employees in their daily work.
  • Ensuring safe, tidy and high-quality working practices.
  • Monitoring production results and making adjustments where necessary.
  • Actively supporting employees in developing their technical knowledge and independence at the machine.
  • Independently resolving minor technical issues; involving the Technical Service Department for more complex problems.
  • Reporting daily to the Production Manager on progress, results and improvement points.
  • Acting as a driver of continuous improvement on the shop floor.
  • Working in a two-shift system with a close-knit team of packers, forklift drivers and a quality employee.

Who are you?

You are a natural, hands-on leader who enjoys working with people. You quickly recognise where someone’s strengths lie and where there is room for development, and you know how to communicate this in a positive and motivating way. In addition, you have:

  • MBO-level working and thinking skills, preferably in a technical or production-oriented field.
  • Experience in a production environment, preferably within plastics or packaging.
  • An affinity with technology and a good sense for process optimisation.
  • Strong communication skills and a coaching leadership style.
  • A hands-on leadership mindset: you work with your team, not above them.
  • Willingness to work in a two-shift system (morning shift: 06:00 – 14:30 / afternoon shift: 14:30 – 23:00).

What do we offer?

You will have a key role within a growing family-owned company where initiative is valued. Your ideas matter, and we continuously invest in technology, machinery and your personal development through training and education.

In addition, we offer:

  • A competitive salary based on knowledge and experience, plus a 15% shift allowance.
  • 25 vacation days and 15.5 ADV days (additional leave days), providing plenty of time off.
  • The option to sell part of your ADV days on a monthly basis.
  • A bicycle scheme.
  • The prospect of a permanent contract – we focus on long-term collaboration.
